Reflections on MoMA, and next trip

Hi, all,
First of all: I'm sorry if I missed you yesterday in the monster line and the rain at the MoMA.  If we didn't meet up, I hope you got to tour the museum anyway.  I haven't really made plans for tomorrow, but I was thinking of heading for the United Nations, in response to popular demand.  Directions are available at the link above.  Let's try to meet at 1:00 PM again, and take the next available tour.

For those of you curious about the MoMA, read on for impressions.

MoMA TOMORROW (Monday 3/29)

Hi, all,

I will meet anyone who is interested tomorrow at the MoMA at 1:00 PM.  I will be waiting in front of the entrance on 53rd Street off 6th Avenue.  (It's right across from the Hilton, for any NHSMUN conference members who want to come.)

The closest subway stop is 5th Avenue and 53rd St.  The E and V trains stop here.  (Take the L to 8th Avenue and then transfer to the E uptown, or to 6th Avenue and transfer to the V.)

Bring your student id, and a lunch bag, or some money if you'd like to buy lunch.  Send me an email or leave a comment on the blog if you're planning to come, so that I'll know to wait for you.

Hope to see you tomorrow.
-Ms. Pawel

Monday's trip -- the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)

The first trip proposed is to the Museum of Modern Art, in Manhattan.  I'm going to try to head there on Monday afternoon, and I'll be happy to see anyone who wants to show up then.  My plan is to visit the museum and then, if the weather's good, head over to Central Park for lunch.  Feel free to check out the posting and comment on it after Monday evening, or go on your own, write your impressions of the day, and email them to me.  I'm always happy to have guest bloggers, and it's major extra credit to write about a trip.  For more info on your pre-vacation sample assignment, and notes on who this trip is good for, check below the jump.

Welcome to your Spring Break trip....

...well, not really a trip.  But people do come from all over the world to visit New York City's attractions.  And since we have ten days of (hopefully) beautiful Spring weather coming up, and a nice long period without classes, I thought that I'd like my students to do something that would take them out to explore the culture and variety of this wonderful city.  Hopefully you'll all take at least one "trip" around the five boroughs this break.  You are all required to make at least one blog comment on the trips that will be described here.  Further posts will give some more information about the places we'll be visiting.  For more information about how this will work as an assignment, read on...
